The Green Scapular is a devotion approved by Pope Pius IX in 1870.  For over 145 years it has been known for its countless miracles of cures and conversions.  It comprises of a single panel (of green felt) displaying the image of Our Lady on the front and the Immaculate Heart on the back.  There is no investiture ceremony, but the Scapular must be blessed by a priest.  The following prayer must be recited daily either by the recipient or the giver: "Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us now and at the hour of our death.”
